GTT is a club that serves as a community space, an incubator for new works, and a place for students to hone their craft as early-career artists. GTT prioritizes contemporary Gallatin work and collaborates with other Gallatin clubs to fully explore our interdisciplinary capabilities. Through exciting partnerships with artists and scholars from various fields, we strive to expand the bounds of theatre-making at NYU.

GTT seeks to broaden our understanding of descriptors such as “classical” or “traditional” theatre work, with a radical people-first, care-centered approach to the rehearsal process. GTT is committed to celebrating and uplifting diversity at all levels.GTT is completely student-run and welcomes students of all experience levels to get involved.

Sofi served as GTT’s Artistic Director for the 2023-2024 season, leading GTT’s first season since the COVID-19 pandemic.
